People counting is particularly useful in retail scenarios. There are two options for people counting – both are based on advanced AI camera types.
3D – twin lens - above door people counters (flow control)
- Dual-lens cameras installed on the door are able to count people in an ultra reliable way
- 3D binocular stereo vision and deep learning algorithms improve people counting performance
These simply and effectively count people in and out, but this can be the same person over and over. Perfectly fine for density control applications (safety)

Multi-Dimensional People Counting – With facial recognition and Queue management
This solution is based upon single lens camera types to filter repeat traffic out and provide retail analytics more so by way of counting ‘individual faces’ – whilst also being able to provide alerts when a person of interest is picked up (good or bad).
A very good use of this functionality is in combatting shoplifting, being able to provide security personelle with an immediate warning of blacklisted customers.

If looking to use multiple cameras you will also need to consider a DeepInMind “IDS” NVR to manage the face library on the NVR itself centrally.
