Support & Downloads

We won't leave you in the lurch.

CCTV products are very technical and we can sometimes spend hours helping to get our customer's CCTV kits setup and running just the way they like it (at no extra cost) or resolving issues.

All of our kits are now starting to come with our own “Plain English quick setup and support guides” which include basic troubleshooting steps and FAQs which, often resolve many of our customer’s initial queries and support requests. Please also ensure you have updated the latest firmware also if you are using HiLook/Hikvision products via the link further down this page, as this does resolve issues.

However we are on hand during normal hours via our new support line 01789 772522 or support@cctvkits.co.uk

Remote Assistance (Teamviewer)

If you are our customer we can assist remotely once you have downloaded the following program:

You will need to arrange a time with us and have this open along with anything else we’d need to work on your PC/Mac with you (router login page and/or video management program such as Hikvision’s iVMS).

We now use AnyDesk also, please download from https://anydesk.com/en-gb/downloads/

Hikvision/HiLook Downloads & Requesting A Password Reset.

Hikvision releases regularly updated software and firmware updates so you should always use the latest version from the following portal:

http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/uk/portal/?dir=portal

App Downloads:

You can now find all of the Android and Apple apps at this page (some are now missing from some app stores are are not up to date): https://appstore.hikvision.com/

Most commonly required files:

SADP – Windows only basic tool, to discover all Hikvision devices on your network and activate and configure network parameters. You can then go in via web browsers to view the cameras (internet explorer recommended). Also can be used to perform device unlocks by exporting the unlock file and sending it to us in return for an import file to set a new password.

IVMS – For Windows and Mac, this includes SADP functionality but also is a full video management program to view cameras and playback footage. You can also edit the device setup via ‘remote configuration’

Product Firmware – Here you can download the latest firmware versions for NVRs and DVRs (Back-ends) or IP cameras (Front-ends). The latest release is usually at the bottom and the zip file will need extracting to get to the .dav file, which is the actual firmware file. You can then upgrade via a USB pen or via the web interface or iVMS.

Requesting a password reset on a recorder/camera connected directly to your network (router).

If you are unable to login to your device you will need to request a password reset by using the simpler and quicker to install SADP tool on a PC or the full IVMS program on Mac or PC.

To do via SADP (Basic program for finding and configuring devices):

You will need to download from the link and install, which will then come up with all connected devices on your network (router). Here you can select your device and go down to 'Forgot Password' at the bottom right to 'Export' a file to your PC hard drive temporarily. (Make a note of the location or we recommend exporting to your Desktop).

Please send this file to support@cctvkits.co.uk with your order details and we will request and reply with an unlock file for you to import and set a new password.

To do via IVMS on the Mac/PC (Full Video Management Application with SADP functionality built in):

You will need to download from the link and install, then going to the 'Device Management' section (Show online devices on Mac). Here you can select your device and select 'Reset Password' to 'Export' a file to your hard drive temporarily. (Make a note of the location or we recommend exporting to your Desktop).

Please send this file to support@cctvkits.co.uk with your order details and we will request and reply with an unlock file for you to import and set a new password.

Requesting a password reset on a camera connected via your NVR.

If you have a camera with a reset button you can try holding this down for 10 seconds when powering on the camera to default it.

Otherwise in this instance the camera(s) will not appear in the above programs without following an additional step. You will have to plug in your PC/MAC along side the camera(s) you wish to reset to get to them. Ideally you will have a laptop with a LAN/Network port which you can plug into one of the camera ports to see the cameras on the other ports and go through the procedure above. If this is not an option the only other way is to provide 12V power to a camera and plug it in to your router or back via a POE switch/injector to power it.

Once you have reset a cameras password to match an NVR password you will need to reboot the NVR to have it re-attempt the connection to the camera.

OYN-X Downloads

You may require the PConfig tool if you are setting up the IP cameras seperately to the NVR, allowing you to search for IP cameras and configure on the network as necessary: Download HERE
